What a blessing to have been in a universe that had a John Prine. His music made me pick up a guitar and find my voice. God bless, Mr. Prine, you're a treasure!

It's great how John has the confidence have someone pick with him who's technically a better player, coz he knows he's the big dog here. John Burns is very deferential, as he is when they play Paradise in another part of this video. I think of John as the Mark Twain of our lives.

John Burns was the son of the late great Jethro Burns. John and John both Chicago' great homegrown musicians.

colbert bump ...:) Today I walked down the street I use to wander Yeah, shook my head and made myself a bet There was all these things that I don't think I remember Hey, how lucky can one man get. I bronzed my shoes and hung from a rearview mirror Bronzed admiration in the blind spot of regret There was all these things that I don't think I remember Hey, how lucky can one man get.

When I'd play one of his songs (espec. Sam Stone or (surprise) Christmas In Prison, some one person would always say, "who is that??". That must have happened so many times across the usa and the world since. What a great legacy and an eternal gift. God Bless John Prine (and Steve Goodman, and Johnny Cash, RIP.) jaslinc1
