I read all your coments and you seem to be right. But when we talk in Black Metal nowadays, we always think in Immortal, Burzum, Darkthrone, etc, and that kind of bands, so, the type of sound which is played by them was heard at the first time in "Bathory" first album of Bathory. But of course that HEllhammer and Venom helped the evolution of this type of music till Bathory realize their first album.10 years ago

Venom never claimed to be a ''Black metal'' metal band read about them you douche they just invented the term as in the song Black metal and influenced Real Black Metal bands (pre 98) to be what they are today as did Bathory, Hellhammer and Celtic frost. VENOM has a huge thrash influence but technically they are the founders of black metal. Even though their music may not sound like it, they did start it first. I would say Bathory and Hellhammer started the sound of black metal.10 years ago
