Brilliant song, especially the conclusion! When was the video of the train journey to Brighton made?

Assuming that some of these unfortunate people who kill themselves in ways that affect the public or train drivers aren't deliberately choosing to 'inconvenience' the public as one last 'fuck you' to a cold uncaring world, does it not occur to people that in a suicidal state where a death as horrific as by railway is contemplated, they're not exactly thinking rationally.I have been on a platform as I was travelling anyway [I hadn't specifically gone there to do it] and it became an opportunity I could have taken and was strongly tempted by, the welfare of others sadly did not come into it, only ending my considerable torment at the time, it was complete tunnel vision. Most people have no idea of the hellish states the mind can conjure up.

Love HMHB but never heard this before. So, so funny. His sense of humour has cheered me no end of times over the years. Yes, suicide is a terrible tragedy, and yes, clinical depression is an awful affliction that ruins so many lives. BUT... human beings have wonderful coping mechanisms for the general unfairness and brutality of life and one of them is humour. Witness the black humour of the WW1 trenches or the people who work for the emergency services. Keep laughing, it's a good medicine.
