After over forty years, Melvin Williams, with his distinctive voice, has continued to be a leader in the Gospel Music Industry. Melvin began singing at the age of six and has been performing his musical ministry for audiences, large and small, ever since. With five solo albums, a massive archive of Williams Brothers albums, six Grammy award nominations, and a host of Stellar and Dove Awards, Melvin Williams is truly a legend of Gospel music.

Melvin and his younger siblings formed the Williams Brothers in imitation of their older brothers the famed quartet the Jackson Southernaires, and released their first album "Holding On" in 1973. In 1991 the Williams Brothers banded together to form their own major independent record label, Blackberry Records. Through Blackberry Records, the Brothers have been able perform their own musical ministry, while promoting other artists such as The Texas Boyz, The Bolton Brothers, the Canton Spirituals, and many more.

Meanwhile, Melvin continued to build his solo career. He began writing and arranging his own music in 1979. Melvin released his first solo album "Back to The Cross" on Light Records. His second album "In Living Color" was released on the newly created Blackberry Records. The albums single "So Good" reached the Top 20 on the Billboard. Melvin also co-wrote the gospel mega hit "Cooling Water" for the "Duets" album with fellow gospel legend Lee Williams. "Cooling Water" spent over 100 weeks on the Billboard charts and remains one of the most requested gospel songs by audiences nationwide.
