This is what sets The Dead miles apart from Phish.

The electric sets from the fall of 1980 ( SF/ NYC ) were all very short, compact versions of songs. Nice but, it was like there was a conscious effort to fit as many songs on an album side as possible. With 7 minute versions of Samson, Shakedown and Feel like a Stranger.. It was a tad disappointing because the band was playing well.

A lot of people have tried to do this song; none of them come close to the original by Rev. Gary Davis.

Yeah Shirley Manson's version is way better. If you prefer things that suck ass.

Micky and Billy are such an easy way to teach novice drummers that are just beginning to catch on about fills. I mean the master time just gets constantly sliced and diced, or to paraphrase robert fripp "more you tear it down the more it remains consistent"

No I don't think soooo. There's a discography floating around the net you can snatch on whatever people are using to download music nowadays... Then you have all the album names with each song. Well for the stuff it has...

bill and mickey are crimnally underappreciated. killer jam. not many bands have the balls or talent, to use dual drummers. reminds me of early allman bros.
