RIP, Mark Craney (2005) Serious chops and a great sense of what was called for at any moment in a tune. He was the real deal!

My main memories, musically from the mid/late 70's are Steely Dan and Gino. Unfortunately, looking at the video, Gino is more interested in the Ladies than the music, whereas Donald is not image/lady conscious at all during his musical career. Still, I love Gino and he will always be the back bone of the music I love.

Montreal's own Gino Vanelli. I was in grade 10 in 1979, and we had lots of guys in Montreal that looked like this...it isn't only the women who are beautiful in Montreal. Come to think of it, I think Corey Hart happened around this time, April Wine was still rockin', and maybe Loverboy.

I see ya Maria. Saw the same concert on tour in Montreal... invited backstage after the show because we became friends from his appearances at our National Arts Centre when I handled publicity in mid-70s. This was a killer performance. Such a free spirit and boundless energy...I can still feel the vibes.
