The Movie "Dope" brought me here awesome song. I used Shazam in the theater to find out what it was when it came up during it.

Happy birthday to revolutionary poet & musician Gil Scott Heron, born this day in 1949, Gil who was way ahead of the game at the time with his socially & political rap poetry, which led him to a generation of fans, in turn becoming the Godfather of Hip hop poetry, the inspiration for many a would be rapper alongside James Brown from the Bronx through to Compton, best known for the cult classic "The Revolution Will Not be Televised"

Every time I went to see brother Gil white's dominated the audience, the only time blacks went to see him, is in hislater years when he got real sick, that's niggers for you. They only jumped up to see him just to see how bad he looked. I listen to them talk shit all the time. Niggers are scared of revolution. 85% love stabbing each other in the back and expect you not to complain about it. They start out as friends and then when they discover you don't fear has much shit as they do, they start flipping on you. They don't flip on you right away, it's a slow process that they unleash, when they think they've wounded you they withdraw until they deliver the next blow. White supremacy fucked our heads up real bad!

I've ran this cut into the ground from the day it was released in the early seventies and will continue to do so, thanks brother Gil for all the real expressed emotions of a Black man's pain, I never heard any other musician bare his soul out like this. Thanks for showing us the non-pretense that, the rest of us are wrestling with and stuck here constantly bullshitting, cheating, back-stabbing, lying, and so full of fear we can hardly get a good shit off while sitting on the toilet. Yeah man, itmight not be such a bad idea to go and stand alone, cause in the end they aren't going to acknowledge that you are evenin the room. It's a miracle we all haven't turned to some kind of substance abuse, considering our misplaced history, but then again complacency to any authority that we really don't respect is a fucking compromise and abusive to one's self.

This is the second song I've heard by G.S-H., the first was Whitey on the Moon and i thought it was a hoot and didn't take him serious, until I started listening to his greatest hits on youtube. . This song is REALLY good, great voice and arrangements. Gil is the real deal! What a really talented artist. Thanks for posting.
