Caius is not a villian. Being the antagonist of the second game, he does oppose Serah and Noel's mission, but that doesn't make him evil. He may not be very sympathetic, but he is on his own quest just like everybody else.

Caius tries to destroy the world for a little girl he cares for, Sephiroth tries to destroy the world for his mother, and Kefka... he tries to destroy the world for the fun of it.

try as I might, I just can't see Caius as a villain. Yes he goes about his actions in a questionable way but when you think about it ALL he is trying to do is save yeul, to end her endless cycle of suffering, the world be damned he just wants to save her. He's seen her die again and again so many times that it has just broken his very core....I know his plan included destroying the world but he never SET OUT to do so, yeul was just more important to him than anything else

I never played the original 13 but I loved 13-2 and lightning returns.13-2 in specific is an underrated game. Doesn't deserve the hate it got.

"I’ve known and protected hundreds of Yeuls. Although they have the same soul, every one of them was unique. A Yeul who dreamed of travel! A Yeul who loved to sing! A Yeul who collected flowers.. they all died, all of them, before my eyes!"- Caius

I don't think anyone can accurately compare Caius's Theme and One-Winged Angel. They're two different pieces of music with two completely different moods. That said, from a musically aesthetic perspective, I still like One-Winged Angel better than this. It has a little more… variation, I guess? But really, that's just my personal opinion, based on what *I* like in a composition. You don't have to feel the same way.…Come to think of it, things would be a lot easier if Final Fantasy fans more readily accepted that we may like different aspects of the series, but ultimately, it's the same series that we love.Seriously, both Caius's Theme and One-Winged Angel are awesome in different ways. Hell, both Caius and Sephiroth themselves are awesome in different ways. So let's all stop arguing, hmm?

The person who created Sephiroth theme said he wanted the Caius theme to be better than Sephiroths theme, they took a month to do this.

Chris Hansen would like Mr. Caius Ballad to TAKE A SEAT, OVER THERE.

Caius was the least interesting villain ever. "I want yeul to survive so I'm going to kill everyone XDDDD"Not to mention his outfit and weapon makes no sense for someone living in a post apocalyptic world with almost no supplies.

I love Caius and I don't even really see him as a Villain. He cares for Yeul and does whatever he can to protect her. Real villains wouldn't do that :3

Cauis, is the better villian, you can justify his actions with a straight face. While Sephroth though is awesome. You can't justify his actions and feel better about killing him. Cauis, is one of the strongest antagonist I've seen in the series, they made a statement of this when he went head up with Lightning and she second guessed herself on more than one occasion. One thing that makes a villain classic is purpose; Cauis was on a crusade.

I love both Caius and Sephy for different reasons but two things stay the same; I really just want to give them a hug, and they are my favourite FF antagonists. I refuse to call them villains. As for their themes; Both are amazing in their own rights. While Sephiroth's makes me feel that there's an epic, foreboding battle ahead for the fate of everything, Caius' makes me feel so much anguish and despair, not for myself in the fight, but for Caius, for *why* I'm fighting him in the first place.Maybe they developed his character more than Sephiroth's. It feels like Caius had a purpose that, if he wasn't destroying everything else along the way, you would actually be fighting WITH him for.

cauis sounds more like kain from FFIV. I still think sepphy is better than him, he's just doing his job not as a villain, but as a guardian of yeul.He cares, but does not think of the paradoxical effects, "what a fool".
