Ah.......Kendall Bechtel and his absolute killer guitar work. In 1989 I did not want a replacement for the mighty James Byrd, I could not believe he had left but Kendall certainly delivers here dont he? These cats reside in that same place as Riot, Crimson Glory, Malice and TNT, bands that are at the top of the heap in talent but are still virtually unknown, why is this?! Oh yeah..... its called the shitty crooked music biz.Oh well, they blast daily at my house. Rock On!

I have both the albums and need to play them again. Just got them awhile back- a month ago. Something about Ted Pilot's voice and the harmonies both vocal and guitar really spark something in me- something rebellious, untamed, and wild. This is not for stupid prick Iron Maiden or Manowar fans. This is hard rock. Now let me explain the difference between hard rock and metal. OK, for starters hard rock often borders on metal so it's kind of got a little grey area, but hard rock is about MELODIES. It's about SONGS. It's about EMOTION. You can find that some metal is close enough to hard rock to have those qualities- that is oftentimes progressive metal and power metal or occasionally NWOBHM. Fifth Angel have something much more heartfelt and melodic and warm then most metal. They are a hard rock/melodic band. I love them. Give me a little time and I may start really raving about them and may say they are THE BEST. This song has got a good heart. I disagree with any band, Iron Maiden as a perfect example, who are just noise and tell young kids to go out and kill people. That shouldn't be around. There is no place for that in a world that is already full of war and hatred. Soldiers are dying every day and nobody cares about them. That is wrong. We must love them and support them not write stupid nonsense glorifying something as horrible and needless as war. I guess Iron Maiden haven't ever been shot at!? There's a thought. If they all died I wouldn't care at all.

Totally under-rated and highly influential band of the the 80's. Great band and great music that continues to inspire metal musicians to this day.

It's a shame that the only "official" video for Fifth Angel is this. Granted, both albums were great. However, TWT was deifinitely more polished and commercial, as opposed to the masterpiece that was their debut album. Nearly 30 years on, I still feel that Fifth Angel (debut) is one of the best metal albums of the 80s if not one of the best debut metal albums EVER.

Bands like this were a dime a dozen back then. The '80's were the best until about 1986, after that all the bands were so cliche and cheesy. Everyone sounded like Tesla, Slik Toxik, Bon Jovi and Skid Row --- Lame!! It was bands like this that drove the final nail into the '80's metal's coffin. Oh I forgot, one band that really screwed the '80's was Poison.

This brings back a lot of very, very old memories. I was 13 and an outcast and oppressed. I endured horrible things during my youth and this video was on Headbanger's Ball back in 89 which was my unholy baptism into hard rock or as it was called then Metal. I personally think that hard rock and metal have a lot in common, but Fifth Angel really made me smile with their crossover between hard rock and melodic metal. My best friend at the time was horrified. Everybody went and attacked me for loving them. I had threats against me if I bought their albums. This was what life was like for me then and still is now! As an act of rebellion I would crank this when I saw the video after it was on the old VHS you used to record onto. Back in the days before everything turned bad with music and it became non-music.

Not enough shots of the drummer...... He used to play with Rick Hansen, didn't he? I wish F.A. was out playing more live shows back then.
