Oh Ireland why can't we go back to this. For one year. Just one year. I was 2 when this song won and it's my favourite Irish winning song. I live in hope that we will one day get the winner. Germany did it in 2010 and Sweden keeps trying I just hope we give the rights to TV3 and they make it into the proper contest it should be to enter Eurovision not the corny trying to crowd please dated crap we have entered this century. The best we had was Lipstick with Jedward and in fairness to them it was the best song we entered with since 2006.

What you expect, Ireland are the only country so far to get a hat trick of eurovsion wins in 1992, 1993 and 1994. The 90's was the strongest for us thanks to the hat trick and 1996, the 80's with 1981 and 1987 and the 70's in 1970.

For a period of a few years in the '90s, the Eurovision was pure gold. It went off the rails then for about 6-7 years. Luckily the standards in more recent years have been improved somewhat again. But we'll never return to the golden years. I think pop music in general was better-crafted during those years.
