One of Bernie's best lyrics ever.

Many are not aware of the yearning for a sibling that went unfulfilled for Elton John and how it added to the sadness and loneliness of his childhood. So this song has an additional dimension.

With hormones flooding her body, I offered my sister this song, who had just given birth to her son, Daniel. She was in a pool of tears for a month!

He has the power to heal, soothe, and thrill my heart and my soul. Thank you for sharing your gift Sir Elton!

Perfect. So innocent and pure is a child's reaction.

I've always been a huge EJ fan, and this song is my very favorite. This album (Elton John) is one of his very best and sadly unknown by most people.

well this was around the time elton started getting huge he wasnt a show man yet he was still in his cacoon but personally i still think his self titled album is best even compared to goodbye yellow brick road but hey to each his own opinion

Don't know if he was nervous, as it was his arrangement they were playing (Paul Buckmaster did all the arranging for the 'Elton John' album, including "Your Song") but I think it might have been a problem that he was further away from the other players and they might not have been able to hear him. Notice he's also the conductor so the players really should watch him for tempo.

It was the cello that was to fast.

He lost the count and played it to fast in the beginning.

The cello player is very nervous and is rushing his part...to bad as the rest is perfect

I bought this album in the 70's...was an instant Elton fan till the duck suit. This is the most touching song ever. I have two sons...I wanted a best friend for the first one and as luck would have it they are. It does bring tears to my eyes as well. A Dad.
