Buying the albums were not enough for me...I own John Taylors aria sb 1000 bass model. And though I has other influences... I can safely tell the world I would not be who I am as a bass player or a person... I was and shall always be... a new wave kid.. proudly.

people like to joke with me about them being my favorite band, but I don't care, they have the best music to me, and this song is incredible!

ふとこの曲を思い出して検索したら、ここへ。30年以上も前の曲に会えて感激。今のCDには収録されてないけど、当時高校生でこの曲大好きだったな。

For those of you stating that this replaced "Is There Something I Should Know" on the 1st album, that is false. This was not even included on the original 1981 US release that DID NOT include "Is There Something I Should Know" and its exclusion seems to be unrelated to that song. It just was not deemed fit for US audiences from the beginning for some reason.

They thought "Is There Something I Should Know" was a better song?........Inexplicable... This is one of my DD favorites and after spending years learning all their basslines I had never even heard this!

Just because you don't know what it means, doesn't mean the song has 'no substance', to use your words. Perhaps the lyric was written for, or with a certain person in mind who may very well appreciate the meaning of the words. Also, you are totally writing off the music, which i feel has a great deal of 'substance'. The feeling and emotion that is created runs very deep. You're an idiot - you obviously base everything on the words - you would be better off sticking to X Factor (no substance).

Nice flangers at the start : ) Spacey as fuck lol I like this song a lot and I first heard it summer of '83 when the guy across the street lent me it.

I never knew it existed until recently. Incredible song to have been left out. Love the noodling on the bass.

DD is one of my favorite bands, and I was born when this stuff was coming out, but most of the meaning and substance of DD is about hooking up with hot chicks.

Me too it was worth having both just for this song. Sound of Thunder and To The Shore just exude emotion. Le Bon is a God. Duran Duran are so totally under rated and under appreciated.

i would argue that early duran duran showed off their ability as musicians and once rio hit it huge, they dumped this more creative approach in favor of a "hit formula". le bon's lyrics always left me scratching my head on meaning, but the other four were indeed quite talented.

i hated that the usa version scrapped this song and replaced it with the annoying "is there something i should know". this song is a thousand times better.

I enjoy early Duran Duran very much but I'm not ignorant to the fact that they have very little to no substance. I would genuinely love you to prove me wrong by telling me what this song means.

I wonder if Garbage's musical style was influenced by this song?
