@YTSlide Thanks for the compliment. And thanks for sharing that video, I never heard that song and love it! It does prove your theory on the dual-capo usage. I listened to it on his website too and there's a banjo in the background which sounds awesome. The 5-string banjo is my first instrument so I may have to learn this song :). Carl. Check out David's "This Tattoo" video at the Bing Lounge. He's using both capos. It looks like the silver capo higher up the neck capos all the strings except the 6th E string. Also, I watched your "Leave it like it is" rendition. Very nice playing and singing. You've got talent, brother!

@YTSlide That makes sense, thanks. I just recorded myself doing his song "Leave it like it is". It was my first attempt at finger picking the guitar and added my own solo before the last verse.

@Carl - reasons for 2 capos could be he uses a capo near the headstock and a partial capo further up the neck. Another reason is that one of the capo is customized so that it only capo's certain strings. David is an alternate tuning master, so he probably experiments with various capo placements and riggings.

I agree but I only said that because I heard a live performance of it where he prefaced it by saying it was a metaphor for addiction...It was a surprise to me. I'm a little slow to catch on sometimes lol...I just loved the song about a girl on a Honda Hurricane. His Chord progressions are very amazing. I just learned his song "Leave it like it is" and am working on "Rusty 'Ol American Dream". I like your idea of a woman escaping abuse, that's the beauty of art, you can have your own take

This song is a metaphor for addiction. I love David Wilcox's music, he's a brilliant writer/poet and guitar player. I wonder why he has 2 capos? He has one on the neck and one clamped to the peghead.
