Fretboard Journal favorite (and issue 16 cover story) David Grier stopped by our offices to perform a couple of flatpicking tunes for our cameras, including this version of “Soldier’s Joy.” Watch as Grier picks up steam and lets the notes fly… by around the 2:30 mark, our jaws were dropping.

Grier is playing a dreadnought made by Bellingham, Washington’s Dake Traphagen.

Rice Flatpicking

He told the same joke again from the last video. I love David, but his jokes suck. and he tells the same ones over and over. I have a soundboard from about fifteen years ago and he's telling the same jokes that were on the Live At The Linda cd. Give it a rest man! Lol.
