This is a great performance!  I've loved Dan Fogelberg's music for so long.  Not only a great singer and writer but also a great musician.

This is a priceless gem. So appropriate with the Dave Letterman Show right now. Missing you, Dan.

I hope Dave acknowledges this performance as one of the Late Show's all-time best before he leaves this week.

"Missing You" came out on an Epic 45 in late 1981, prior to his first "Greatest Hits" LP;  I added at at KFTW.  After that, Dan hit in '84 with "The Language of Love" and "Believe in Me" from the "Windows and Walls" LP, and a cover of "Rhythm of the Rain" from "The Wild Heart" in '88.  He continued to record right up until his passing, and he is certainly missed.

Missing You was released as a new track on his 1982 Greatest Hits album. Not in 1980.

What a truly talented man and musician. We had so much in common in beliefs. His song inspired me to no end and carried me into my career. Dan performed both on stage and most important in the studio playing so many different instruments, singing his own back up vocals and harmony. What was so fun while he was writing and recording music is you never knew what style of music he would produce on his next album or CD. It always left us in anticipation of what was to come, but you always knew one of the song would be a heart wrenching love song as no other could express. O OOH, if I had you beside me, then I could tell you what you meant, your music are the songs that guide me, all of the days of my life, All of the dayssss of my LIFE!  Missing you forever for sure!

This song accually  came  out in the  fall  of  1981.  I  just came  back from  my 2nd tour in Korea, and  this  song  reminds me  of what I  left  behind at  that time.  All of  the  days  of  my life...

I think this was Dan's last song that did much of anything on the charts. I remember hearing it and liking it back in 1983, but it took me forever to finally learn whose song it was, cuz I wanted to buy it on a 45 rpm single (remember those?!?!?). It's quite different than much of the stuff that Dan was known for. It rocks actually. It's really a shame that Dan passsed on at such a young age. God bless him.

Anyone who says Dan was not a rocker is clearly mistaken. Just listen to that guitar!

Earlier this year Rolling Stone had an article on the 100 greatest guitarists of the rock era, and Dan was nowhere to be found! I own all of his albums and this guy could play everything...and play it well!
