Dan singing one of my favorite songs Live in Kansas City. I was at this show 4 nights earlier in Houston. For ALL the DanFans.

Joy at the start

Fear in the journey

Joy in the coming home

A part of the heart

Gets lost in the learning

Somewhere along the road.

Along the road

Your path may wander

A pilgrims faith may fail

Absence makes the heart grow stronger

Darkness obscures the trail.

Cursing the quest

Courting disaster

Measureless nights forebode

Moments of rest

Glimpses of laughter

Are treasured along the road.

Along the road

Your steps may stumble

Your thoughts may start to stray

But through it all a heart held humble

Levels and lights your way.

Joy at the start

Fear in the journey

Joy in the coming home

A part of the heart

Gets lost in the learning

Somewhere along the road

Somewhere along the road

Somewhere along the road.

This is one of the best songs ever written. Who first recorded this?

beautiful! I love Heart Hotels, Power of Gold, Old Lang Syne, Make Love Stay, Longer, etc... but had never heard this, and just assumed this was first recorded by Ashton,Becker,Dente off their trio album they did in the mid-90's! Their recording is wonderfully haunting and I've listened to it several hundred times over the years, and they follow Dan's performance to the T! RIP DAN

Wow, very cool beggarsgame I have been listening now for over 2 hours now and am missing my man again. I was fortunate enough to see him live 3 times and will never forget any of the performances. 1st time was 77' when I was stationed in Co. and the last time at Ruth Eckard Hall here in Clearwater Fl. in 2001. I am a major Danfan and Member of his site. thanks and keep up the awesome stuff. IU will post as well when I figure this out. Mikie
