Loving is fine if you have plenty of time For walking on stilts at the edge of your mind Loving is good if your dick's made of wood And the dick left inside only half understood her

"The girl dancesWhen she plays with meAnd sometimes I think I love herThe silence dares not,When we are together, Put the wordsOn our nights together.”

Ça me fait toujours rire les chanteurs anglophones qui parlent français dans une chanson, on comprend jamais rien même si on est français ! Mais à l'oreille, l'accent est plus agréable qu'un français bien parlé.

When I first listened to this and Damien started speaking French. I just completely stopped what I was doing and froze to the spot. So beautiful!

you know this is about him being a music tutor and sleeping with one of his students. he was quite young and it seems to have influenced a lot of his music

(sorry for replying a year after you said this but...) im told the last words might mean 'little nap' which means the whole french bit is; "The dancing girl. she plays with me and sometimes i think i like it. silence does not threaten us when we're together, put the words to sleep"

its about a delicate love affair. he's vulnerable, and he can't tell her how he feels, because he doesn't know what it is :) but the rhyming means it does mean something sweet to him, but what it is, love, loneliness, something else, he doesn't know. and he can't explain why she's there, because he doesn't know who he is and what he wants to be, to himself, to her.
