Lyrics for Anniversary Song:

Have you ever seen a sight as beautiful

as that of the rain-soaked purple

of the white birch in spring?

Have you ever felt more fresh or wonderful

than on a warm fall night

under a Mackerel sky,

the smell of grapes on the wind?

Well I have known all these things

and the joys that they can bring

And I'll share them all for a cup of coffee

and to wear your ring

Have you ever had the pleasure of watching

a quiet winter's snow slowly gathering

like simple moments adding up?

Have you ever satisfied a gut feeling

to follow a dry dirt road that's beckoning you

to the heart of a shimmering summer's day?

Well I have known all these things

and the joys that they can bring

And I'll share them all for a cup of coffee

and to wear your ring

And I don't know how I survived those days

before I held your hand

Well I never thought that I would be the one

to admit that the moon and the sun

shine so much more brighter when

seen through two pairs of eyes than

when seen through just one

Have you ever seen a sight as beautiful

as a face in a crowd of people

that lights up just for you?

Have you ever felt more fresh or wonderful

as when you wake

by the side of that boy or girl

who has pledged their love to you?

Well I have known all these things

and the joys that they can bring

And now every morning there's a cup of coffee

and I wear your ring

Love this song. The instrumentation and voice complimenting each other beautifully so down to earth and the feeling flows right on through so easily. Margo T. gives an honest strength to the lyrics that lets me know some of the most important things are still out there very much alive.

Zach, poor Zach...Every honest song or story about love is different and gives us something to learn. CJ's give that love song an honest strength through her voice and the tasty accompaniment. Man, give me all the love songs and you can have those that desperately try to be different with nothing inside.

This is a song that I hit the " repeat button" in the car and, if I'm driving 15 minutes or an hour, it always sounds new and refreshing....the one that made me listen to more of the CJs

I remember first hearing and seeing Margo Timmins in JAN 1995 when a new new country TV station first started in Toronto. This lady took my breath away. I thought because I was so impressed with her that I would be hearing a lot more from her, to me that video featuring this song was right up there with the super stars like Mick Jagger and Eric Burdon of the Animals, but for some reason I never heard of them again. She was overlooked, anyways thanks to you tube I can hear and see her again!

This song has most definitely not remained popular over time. What makes "On Marriage" so popular today is its unorthodox perspective on marriage. "Anniversary Song" is nothing short of cliché, and it talks about the joy in marriage that is commonly heard about. Because it's so cliché, it does nothing to really differentiate itself from other songs about marriage or love (and as we all know, there are tons of those). People have no real reason to listen to this song for its lyrics, when they could easily listen to many other songs that have similar lyrics. Without the contrary ideas of "On Marriage," there is nothing to pop out at the listener and make him or her consider what is being said; instead, it's just another love story.
