Great rendetion of the "Aranhauze Concerto for guitar. Lots of Phrygian scale used here. Still it's like they read each other's minds! It is SO creative, and yet without much of any kind of limitation on their improvising. Kinda like the old Free Jazz with no key signatures, bar lines or given chord symbols.

It's like samurai master and student confronting in a "duel"...but nobody wins , the beauty of the duel itself does.

Needs more cowbell. Seriously though...this is rare musical genius especially for our time (which is pretty much the dark ages of musical creativity in our dumbed - down culture). Every time Hiromi plays it renews my enthusiasm for music and of course Chick has been an inspiration from the late 60s when he was with Miles Davis right through to the present. Thank God we have these true artists living among us today!

They're playing "Concierto de Aranjuez" of Sketches of Spain by Miles Davis and Gil Evans for the first bit... Brilliant.

I'm so amazed by technical masters of their art. But then again, music is even MORE powerful than that. You can write greatness with the simplest notes. Listen to "Private Eyes" by Darly Hall and John Oates. It's so simple, but so powerful. Is it lesser than this? Technically yes. But music is different. Imagination transcends technical skills. The simplest notes can have amazing effects.
