Gassertrucks, thank you so much for this awesome video. I had to learn this for a gig today and I learned a few Little Walter chords from this video that will help me out on a few songs. Can't wait to buy that Guitar DVD when it is available. Great playing and killer guitar! Is that guitar the Gibson ES-140? Sounds great.

Oh my god, why did I not discover you sooner - a Chicago blues guitar soulmate! I am in London, England. The number of times I have tried to play along to this & collapsed in a heap at the faster passages - you dash it off immaculately! Just caught the start of Everybody Needs Somebody before you switched off - another classic! I agree with your other correspondents; the best guitarists and tracks are underrepresented on youtube. Kid Anderson does a good Wiilie Johnson on one of his videos.

One more thing... I'm going to go ahead and assume you're also aware of/familiar with the similar although equally idiosyncratic rhythm/solo styles of the Memphis counterparts of Lockwood/Rogers in Chicago- Willie Johnson and Pat Hare. Those fellows are equally absent from youtube. If you get a chance, I'd love to see that stuff analyzed as it has always been a bit harder for me to pick up off of the LPs (with all that great distortion and noise on those SUN records)... Thanks again for posting.

This is excellent. Shake Dancer is the first one I learned. It's pretty disappointing that there are only a handful of videos out there that demonstrate this essential style of playing. It's really THE way to play as far as I'm concerned. I think you're probably the first guy on youtube playing the Lockwood/Myers/Rogers style properly in a guitar lesson format. Congratulations. I know there are guys out there doin it but you don't find them on youtube. Thanks for posting. Keep it up!

I've been checking out blues guitar lessons on YouTube for years...This is some of the best stuff on the site....I've been sitting here with my guitar just soaking it up...Thank you so much!...Knowing this stuff is so much more important than playing solos...I consider myself lucky to have found this.
