Clarity in singing is important, I know Son House and I can still understand him; there's no point singing (whatever genre) if you can't make majority of the lyrics understandable; that defeats the whole objective of a song telling a story. Especially when it comes down to the blues, every blues artist has a story to tell; if you can't understand it then how (as a listener) are you supposed to feel the blues back?

The blues has nothing to do with clarity... ever heard of a man called Son House? It's about raw expression and soul. I heard some real gritty soul in this and I applaud his voice that is nicely suited for the blues. All you need to sing blues... is a well.. the blues.

Major respect to him for playing the blues but his voice isn't really suited for this genre. He needs to work on his clarity for this song. You only get one type of blues, it's not differentiated by cardinal points.
