I always interpret the first four lines wrong."Hey coffee eyes""You got me coughing up my cookie heart""Making promises to myself""Promises like seeds of everything I could be"I always pictured myself as a kid looking up at my parent's coffee eyes (cause adults always drink coffee and go to work) and me coughing up my cookie heart to them when they tell me that I'm going to grow up someday and have a good job, I'll be a doctor, or a lawyer, they make all these promises to you as a kid of what you should be when you grow up.It's sad cause a cookie heart is like a child's innocence that they lose going into adulthood. A kid is just trying to be a kid until their parents or adults talk to them about growing older and getting a job eventually, so the kid just sits there and listens, coughing up innocence. This song just goes so well with childhood to me, and what it felt like when I was little surrounded by adults, trying to understand that transition into adulthood.

Lots of good emo bands, kinda sad that nowadays it implies bad makeup and hair, antisocial attitude, cutting yourself, and bad poppy music.
