I think you can validly argue that this isn't a "realistic" version because the KitKat Club would never have featured this level of talent (or have been choreographed by Bob Fosse). That's true, but every time I see this I can't believe that it matters.

An excellent portrayal of the final days of the Weimar Republic inspired by Christopher Isherwood's "Goodbye to Berlin".

Kiedy wiele lat temu poszłam na ten film do kina, nic o nim nie wiedziałam. Wyszłam z kina zauroczona i taka pozostaję do dnia dzisiejszego.

Cumming was doing the faggot spiel, Grey was doing what the emcee at that time would have done. I like Cumming, but this part can not be done or sung better than Grey did it.

Do people know what happened in late 20s/early 30s germany-----the horrors to come were set.Misunderstanding science and sociology and having socalled scientific scholars and 'scientists' run amok and abusing applications of certain sciences is EVIL.

True about Sally's introduction. Joel, Michael and Liza made CABARET a heart-stopping classic.

This is such a fantastic scene. Even the little details are well-researched : the audience member at 0:28 is taken from a famous painting of the Weimar era, "Portrait of Journalist, Sylvia Von Harden" by German Expressionist painter Otto Dix.
