When I listen to this song I imagine two armies, one of ancient Rome and another from Carthage, just standing there in full armor as rain pours upon the Italian grasslands with solemn expressions on their faces, as the drums begin to pick up both armies begin to march toward each other in battle formations. I Imagine the sight of flaming arrows being fired from each side as the two armies charge to meet with each other, battle raging in the now muddy grasslands, The blades of both Roman and Carthaginian design clash as arrows fly over head and either become stuck upon shields, bounce off armor or strike true upon flesh. Both sides begin to escalate the battle with Onagers firing flaming boulders at each other's lines, with no end to the battle in sight as the storm above them continues to pour down rain without any foreseeable end. Finally the commanders of both sides take to the field directly on horseback, initially intending to strike at the flank of their enemy but quickly see each other and instead charge at each other, horses and men go flying as the cavalry of both sides hit each other dead on. Those that survive being flung off their horses fight on foot with both commanders, as if by fate, both lock eyes and see each other just a mere few feet away from where they both stand, they both charge each other and lock blades as those around them fight on. As the two Commanders fight, they soon start taking small wounds and as they do, they remember briefly more peaceful times, the Carthaginian Commander remembers his son as he takes him to watch the ships come into port, filled with goods to trade, the Roman Commander remembers his daughter and how she's waiting for her father to return home to tell her more stories of his time fighting for Rome. The battle slowly begins to swing in the favour of the Romans as the Carthaginian Mercenaries begin to be forced back, inch by inch, as the Roman Legionaries begin to flank some of the weaker troops the Carthaginians are fielding.Both commanders briefly notice this and the Roman Commander quickly grabs the Carthaginian one and tries to throw him down the hill where the Cavalry continue to fight only to be dragged down along with him, they quickly get up and now fight desperately in hopes of killing the other to force the other army into disarray. The Carthaginian Commander however then takes a sword through the stomach, The Roman Commander the Victor of the fight. But before the Roman commander can do anything more he takes a serious wound of his own by a Carthaginian rider who sought revenge for his fallen commander, as they two lay there dying their last thoughts are of their family and how they're sorry that they won't be there anymore...This is what comes to my mind when I listen to this song
