Live in Sweden 1994 by the great Blackfoot! Not the same as the original lineup, but they still rock...

Lyrics:

Howdy folks, this is your old buddy Shorty Medlocke

I'd like to tell you about an old bunch of fox hounds I got

Ole Ring, an Ole Tige and Ole Rover

And when we start out across them Georgia hills a-huntin'

And them foxes sound something like this

[Harmonica] ...Ooooh, ooh, ooh, git it sic em, catch it

[Harmonica] ...Get em Ring. [Harmonica] ...Ooooh, ooh, ooh

Ahhh, Lets crank it up now

Well I got in my pickup, my old forty ford

Had my snake skins on, and my black hat choked, and I was ready to stroll

And I crossed over into Jackson, said to my friend brother do you want to go

Lord are you so slow, We'll be out doing the fox chase just

like so many times before

I dropped a glass of tea and Gomez De, Charlie said we're right on time

Gonna bring me black jack some one on one and maybe just a little bit of wine

We got pretty Miss Lucy bring your live gun she's already to go

Baby, baby ain't too slow, we'll be out doing the fox chase

just like so many times before

Aeeee

Well, free as a breeze, do what we please without a care in the world

Just a dollar of gas, a one night of romance, were looking for that girl

Well now, somebody call a doctor, sick on my knees,

don't think I'll be able to go, Then again, I don't know,

but I'll be out doing the fox chase just like so many times before

Oh, I'm seeing them foxes

(songwriters: Paul Robert Medlocke, Jakson W Spires, Rickey Medlocke)

You're right - not the same sound nor energy as the original lineup. The original four had a special chemistry and energy. Thank you for the post tho.

Great Band! And cool people too. I talked to Jackson Spires in a bar when he was with the Dixie Allstars. He was the nicest guy you could ever meet. No ego at all. He bought my friend and me a beer, and told us he was doing some percussion for TV commercials as a side thing. He wouldn't say what, but and rolled his eyes and shook his head. He talked about his family and how rare some of the old blackfoot albums were becoming. A genuinely nice guy. We offered to help load up their gear and I helped Dave Hlubek ( Molly Hatchet ) haul amps. He was cool too, and kept laughing about how many times he's had police drug sniffing dogs checking his laundry.

There is a lot of chat about Tim Stunson on bass (3:13). Not only is he a Rock God, He is a kind and generous cheeseburger eating, beer drinking Rock God. In fact this was a heavily underrated line up of musicians...not "random" guys that were Ricky's friends. Tim, I'll take that 10 spot now thank you very much!!!.

Ricky is Blackfoot and if anyone blames him for line up changes don't;blame the S.O.B. that left the band or wasn't doin his job playin, any musician will tell ya change is synonymous with time and people and friends come and go and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it.

@briantxs I'm good friends with Tim, had Cheese Burgers and beer with him a couple of months ago. Tim is a class act all the way!

'Maruader' was the last great Blackfoot album. 'Siogo' pandered to teenies and MTV and had maybe 3 songs that could be considered pure Blackfoot. Atco actually wanted Charlie Hargrett to cut his hair and wear different clothes to fit in with the new generation. They wanted to kick him out because he was 'too ugly'! I give credit to him for saying 'screw that' and bailing from the band before the abysmal 'vertical smiles', which even Medlocke disowned immediately after its release.

Just saw this. I went to school with Tim Stunson (Playing White Bass). Glad to see him live. Great Guy, Great Texas Musician!

I came on board when Flyin' High came out...played the thing a lot, got No Reservations ASAP and really enjoyed Blackfoot for years, saw several shows...and they always kicked serious ass. After Vertical Smiles I wasn't into them as deeply as before.and can't even go there with the current Lineup...without Thunderfoot AND Medlocke...nah, pass...

Damn, that song just crushes live! Rickey Medlocke is truly under-rated as a guitarist....and I'd be willing to wager at least one more go-round with Blackfoot before it's all said and done. No disrespect intended to the current line-up, but Blackfoot-Rickey= cover band.

I asked Ricky about a year after he joined Skynyrd why couldn't Skynyrd play one of the Blackfoot songs. He used to play a bit of a solos of Train Train when JVZ would introduce him. Play like this song, Left Turn on a Red Light, or Wishing Well or something like that. Gary said NO!! Too bad too because the Blackfoot fans would have loved it.

Big fan of Mark Woerpel. Saw him 4-5 times play guitar with Rick and the boy can play. His solos on Guitar Slingers Song and Dance were excellent.

I saw Blackfoot in a small club in NYC in the early 80's- the best freakin concert I've ever seen... Damn they were kick ass...I'd love to hire them for a party I'm having.
