Dear toyotayaruno-san, try learning this arrangement by listening repeatedly step by step the melody, the bass line and the chords - it really is the best way - you develop your ears, you'll understand the artist better and it's free of charge......(:)) Good luck with that!

Keep listening, it will be worth it, I promise! Bill Evans' music is very rewarding and has different moods on many recordings. Listen to his early records, he swung in a more obvious way as he was very influenced by Bud Powell, Horace Silver and Red Garland (people you might want to investigate as well)......Good luck discovering more music!

@toyotayaruno There's a (completely legal, they pay the copyright holders) free lead sheet on wikifonia . If you want an actual transcription of Bill's playing, check out Pascal Wetzel's book of Evans transcriptions, you'll find it or refs to it on the web. But I don't know whether he transcribed this performance.

Beautiful, but disturbing. His playing is so coked out and almost maniacally crunchy and bright. It is still one of my favorite performances, just so sad.

Jazz legend Bill Evans, R.I.P. Jazz piano pros and students try to emulate your style and dazzling chops. I have a long, long way to go, if ever, even come close...

@toyotayaruno hey, you should try looking for a copy of The Real Book. There are multiple editions that would probably have this song in it. I'm japanese too, but I like in California! its great that people in japan love jazz so much. Bill Evans is my favorite pianist.

@billroue what a sweet notion! read some remarks on bill evan's "longest suicide". still a mystery to me, how he made each performace so alive:-) maybe he was "god" :-))
