I don't care for their opinion. One of them has been long dead, The other's agreement or disagreement is just as valuable as mine. If you go by what others think, your mind is not very independent, is it?

I've never said anything you suggest. There are good covers of this songs but they still lag the perfection of the original. Not going into details here but there are some very obvious shortfalls of those covers due to lack of understanding the cadence and dynamics of the song and its natural flow as it was felt and understood by the original creators. Not trying to discount the effort, although I always find it to be a waste of time to try do any cover.
