My favorite song-writing duo, Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. Love this cut, just want to find a shorter version

This was one of the tracks that was played at the Oasis Lounge in San Diego CA back in the '80s......R.I.P. Nickolas Ashford.......you and Valerie Simpson never got the props you deserved during the height of your career and you deserved it! I always felt that there were you and Val, Holland Dozier Holland, Gamble & Huff, and Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong that defined Classic Soul in the 60s, 70s and 80s......you will be missed, and thank you for the memories!

I always have liked this one by these legends of R&B music, it's got to be one of their funkiest tracks ever, an it's definitely one of the funkiest R&B dance tracks of the 80's. May God see Valerie Simpson through this trying time, and may he bless the soul of Nick Ashford, there will never be another prominent duo in R&B music as this couple was for over four decades, no doubt about that, R.I.P. Mr. Nickolas Ashford, God is pleased with your work here on earth...

This was a very underrated song .Sad to lose another legend. Had the chance to see them along with the SOS Band in the mid 80's. RIP Nick, no more suffering!

@antiann52 To me it is "the radio version" (I'm messing with ya) all jokes aside, this is the version I heard on the radio in Wichita, KS their then Urban station KBUZ. They were good for playing mostly full length LP and 12" single versions of songs. Very rarely have I heard them spin a seven inch version of hits. By the way you find the single version of this record on ITunes and it's posted here by a French soul fan (from a performance on Britain's "620 Soul Train")

"... the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress..."
