I saw Pete Seeger when he appeared at McDaniel College with his grandson. I also saw him at Pier 6 in Baltimore when he appeared with Arlo Guthrie. Inspiring, magically, amazing. I miss him. AL

I think I'm not the only one feeling terribly mournful at the passing of the one and only Pete Seeger. Not because it is sad for him or those close to him; he lived a far longer and more fulfilling life than many of us could possibly hope for. But his death is, to me, the end of an era. Mr. Seeger represented an America that is swamped today beneath greed, opportunism, and military adventurism. As a veteran, like Pete Seeger, I long to live in peace beside my countrymen and my foreign neighbours.
