I feel like the video gives a very specific meaning to the song, which is more general.the song is about someone who is in a relationship with someone else who's afraid of being left behind. The speaker tells their beloved that trying to hold them back will only harm their relationship, and that they don't plan on leaving them anyway - the speaker LOVES their beloved, and wants their beloved to know that, hence the offered hand that "will do [the speaker's beloved] good" by letting the beloved know the speaker is still there.the video, however, adds a layer on top of that - Ane starts the video dressed in an almost 50's kind of way, but slowly starts to dress her self in less feminine attire, reminiscent of a biker or Rosie the Riveter. Men fall upwards in the background. The video puts the song in the context of a woman who is starting to break out of traditional gender rules and starting to assert herself as an independent person. Her beloved is afraid that this means that she'll leave him, but she asserts that she won't because she loves him.
