Si Al Green singing to a lover or...God? This magnificent ambivalence is at the heart of Al Green's faith AND art. Kudos to Al Jackson, former drummer of Booker T. & the MGs, and the swirling strings punctuated by just a tad of percussive guitar. sounding so right...angels or girlfriends on backing vocals? Both...? Mr. Green's finest and that is saying a lot.

When it comes to R&B Al Green own's the 70's Otis Redding own's the 60's and Sam Cook own's the 50's. Just my opinion. There is no one who compares today.

This song reminds of Christmas Eve at my grandma house, she in the kitchen cooking and the rest of us are playing cards, singing to these classic records and being a family. I miss those days cause almost everybody is gone now. I still reminisce over the good times though.....

This song touches me very time, I was either divorced or going thru, anyhow I was on the park in Atlanta, met this beautiful white diamond...the last thing I remembered telling her was to " CALL ME "...
