I've been an Aerosmith fan since day one, seen them several times, played their songs in different bands, had all their albums, etc. But.....I must confess that I like the original version by the Joe Perry Project much better. Aerosmith played the original JP version live when I saw them and it was awesome! In fact, they decided to record it because of the big reaction it was getting during the live shows. But then they changed the lyrics and verses and turned it into more of a Steven Tyler song. Don't get me wrong, it's fine if you never heard the original. Joe's album was conceived at a time when Aerosmith were at each other's throats. Joe had all these great demos and the others had nothing. They were planning to take his demos and make an album without him. Instead Joe took them and made an AWESOME album without them! They were pissed, especially when the album got such great reviews.

I remember picking the album up the day it came out at a place in Norridge IL called Rolling Stone Records....bought it back to the dorm and played it for a few friends....I seem to really be the only one in the room that liked most of this album....ugh they just didn't get it.I liked Joe Perry Project version of this song too but to me this way better.

Done with Mirrors is such a fuckin badass album...its dark, aggressive, raw, n Tyler's vocals are at their finest...this is how he should sound...not like some sissy like he does on "I don't wanna miss a thing"... this is a great kick off to a string of great tunes that all weave together to make a tight album..I like the part in this video when Tyler sings at 1:42...n this is a mondegreen, cuz I have no idea what he's singing, n I wanna keep it that way..." cheesecake baby if I take another bite, I'm real fat city I'm an aer delight..u at the parlor with my amatalite I'm a squeaky clean body turn -a - mite..."... Lol...but its frickin cool...great tune...the way Aerosmith should sound..tough, rough, in your face..n a little sleazy too, of course...

I believe Aerosmith only has 3 great albums...their very first eponymous titled one, pump, n my favorite...DONE WITH MIRRORS...its a great album...n underappreciated raw classic.
