The Beatles "Something" guitar lesson. This next "Riff of the Day" is actually a group of excellent chord progression and we're using the Tech 21 Rotochoir to match the slow Leslie guitar sound created by George Harrison. Early demos of "Something" reveal that the song was actually in the key of A but the final album version ended up in C. Listeners with a keen ear will be able to notice that George is still keeping the open chord shapes of the early demos by shifting the key with a capo at the 3rd fret. Not only does this make the song easier to play than ever, but you will hear all the right open strings ring out like the album version. The Beatles "Something" also provides you with a grab bag of beautiful chord changes that will lead to inspire new ideas. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!

That really was something ! A little English humor, there. Great video and explanation of the capo, etc. One thing would help though, if the chords were shown as they normally would be named, in addition to their actual names (Eg. The "C" chord is played like an "A" chord, so, the caption would be (A) C.

Love you guys, but this would really be a lot more helpful if you included the tab of the chords you're playing like you used to. If I'm showing my inexperience, so be it. Not everyone knows every variation of every chord like the back of their hand, and I can never tell which notes he's fretting just by looking at his hand mushed up against the fretboard.

Great new approach Andy - I'm not against the capo....but I am Missing the bends in the intro.

That's hilarious. I was just finishing learning this today and thought to myself: "I should suggest this to Pro Guitar Shop to see how Andy would do it." As always, thank you for doing this.

Sounds quite similar, but still have some doubts about the capo... cause when George played it live he use a regular C chord, no capo. Still, great lesson, as always!
