This was the song playing on the portable wireless radio scientist working on some of the first evolution research had with them when they uncovered one of the first Australopithecus afirencis skeletons. As a result the case study name they gave that skeleton was Lucy. Thank you Walking With Cavemen, an amazing documentary that I sorely miss. Thought I'd share this obscure piece of song trivia with the rest of you. : )

John may have expressed dissatisfaction with the song's recording later, but I find it absolutely mesmerizing and beautiful. That trippy, psychedelic organ and massively echoed Lennon vocal are the epitome of 1967 Beatles music. Though not a single, it is one of the most recognized and memorable songs from the Fabs in that heady year!
