written by George- the last new song recorded by the Beatles before their Split in 1970. recorded Jan 3 adn April 1 1970 released May 8 1970. the set of pronouns which form the songs title is a conventional way of referring to the ego in a Hindu context. the Bhrgaud 2:71-72 they are forever free who renounced all selfish desires and break away from the ego-cage of "Im Me, Mine" to be united with the Lord. George was particulary upset at the Twickenham Studios(where this was recorded) tht his fello Beatles could complain about the amount of time they had to spend learning the arrangement for I Me Mine, and than turn around and submit to the laborious rehersal of a song like Maxwell's Silver Hammerm which he hated. further, if friends like Dylan and Clapton heard something worthwhile in materal like All Things Must Pass-what besides sheer egotism could account for the air of complete indifference with which Lennon and McCartney first greeted both that tune and I Me Mine. it took 16 takes and the last one was the one chosen for the LP.George-lead and harmony vocal, acoustic guitar, lead guitarPaul-harmony vocal, bass, hammond organ, electric pianoRingo- drums(John wasn't there for this recording session)
