Go-Go's - Cool Jerk '90.

Official music video for the remake of "Cool Jerk" (here cleverly retitled "Cool Jerk '90") that was recorded for the Go-Go's 1990 Greatest Hits album (cleverly title 'Greatest').

The track was produced by frequent Prince collaborator David Z. who was fresh off having a U.S. number one hit with the Fine Young Cannibals "She Drives Me Crazy", however the producer's signature drum snare loop sound and highly produced style didn't really mesh well with the organic pop/rock sound the Go-Go's were known for and the single tanked upon release in the Fall of 1990.

Today, the track is often looked at with much disdain by many Go-Go's fans (and most likely) some band members themselves. However, the video is a treat in many ways...it does have a colorful, slick feel to it that pops out at you, and it IS entertaining to see some of the awkward dance moves the poor band members were forced to endure. While singer Belinda Carlisle seems most comfortable with this task, poor Gina Schock is forced to dance the cool jerk AND bang the drum at the same time..and the result is pure entertainment GOLD.

Fun fact: The video version of this song is actually a 'remix' of the remixed/remade Cool Jerk ('90) that appears on the album 'Greatest'.
