You were fucking amazing in the live footage from Wacken 2005 (You SLAYED this song in particular, doing better than Peter did on the album), but... this is so bad. Is it ego? Is it laziness? Come back to us, Mikael. Bring back those hellishly awesome growls. :(

@katzenrubbl0r He seems to have been going downhill since about 2006/2007 (I say this because he sounded absolutely incredible on the Roundhouse Tapes but worse afterwards). He seems to have picked up bad techniques at some point and his growls are now pretty bad. He said that the ear monitors he had been using were responsible, but I don't completely believe that. The Wacken 2008 videos clearly show that his harsh vocals were getting worse.

@AndresMetalSubtitula when he was touring with bloodbath he was still on tour with opeth, and even still when i was at bloodstock seeing both was fucking amazing!

My God his vocals are awful here. His growls have been getting weaker since 2009. Watch any video of Mikael prior to 2009 and you will see what I mean.

Yeah his voice is not as good as before, and I dont know why, Im sure is not his age, I mean, people like glen benton and peter tagtgren are older and their voice are still amazing, Mikael ought to take back his old vocal technique. And without dan swano and mikaels old voice, bloodbath is not the same, but is still a great fucking band.

@Paulo969 in this video his vocals do sound alittle bad, but it is just a side band show. Why give it yer all? his high screams are fuckin insane tho.

I think that Mikael's voice is changing a bit since he's getting older. check out the new opeth dvd for example. The growls are still really good I think, but they were better before. On this video he's doing a new teqnice, not the old teqnice, which he still does on the new opeth dvd.
