Jackie Lomax nailed this song-I can see why the Beatles let him have it.It needs that single driving voice, not harmonies

Why did someone think that by adding tons of reverb to this would somehow make it rarer? Bogus

@avalanchesuperstar Yes you're right. I missed the point of what Happening45 was saying. Sour Milk Sea did indeed feature George, Paul and Ringo, and in addition Nicky Hopkins and Eric Clapton and both this one and Savoy Truffle are great songs. there's a connection between the Lomax sessions and Savoy: `the eagle laughs at you', SMS's B-side, features distorted horns. I don't know which tune was first but Savoy has them too and George produced both songs.

@bloeddorstigbeest What he was saying is that "Savoy Truffle" was influenced by John Lennon's work. As we all know, the song is actually based on Eric Clapton's chocolate addiction. BTW Lomax's version featured 3 of the 4 Beatles (John was absent from the session).

Love that late 60s sound.

I've heard a bootleg of a SMS demo before but I'm sure this sounds different. Are there more than demo is this song?

This is just a demo recording that Paul Ringo and George did for Jackie Lomax's version of this song (which George wrote and did backing vocals)

@happening45 d'you mean that John wrote Savoy Truffle? He'd wish he had, it's George's song.

What is sooo wild is my band / combo...- came up with the name Sour Milk for our band...!! Greg Lead guitar said "how about 'Warm Milk' since we are all getting pretty old" (I'm 57) and I said "Well we aren't the greatest either how about Sour Milk..." To find out that the Beatles - both of ours, without a doubt, favorite band of all time!, used the name is just Karma or something... Especially on this LP after all has been said and done and --this!! Thanks for posting! Craig (Sour Milk)
