Download The Decca Audition Tapes Remastered By Me!

For the 49th Anniversary of The Beatles doing an Audition to Decca, now Remastered.

"Searchin'" is a song written by Leiber and Stoller specifically for The Coasters. It was released as a single on Atco Records in March 1957, and topped the Rhythm and Blues Chart for twelve weeks. It reached #3 on the national pop singles chart.

Although the Coasters had previously done well on the R&B charts, it was "Searchin" (along with "Young Blood" on the flip side) that sparked the group's rock and roll fame.

Singer/songwriter Paul McCartney chose Searchin' as one of his Desert Island Discs in 1982. McCartney performed the song with The Beatles during their audition for Decca Records on 1 January 1962.

The song is featured in the 1999 Warner Bros. animated movie, The Iron Giant.

OPINION:

A very well performance, closing the Decca Audition, Paul strikes again with an incredible vocal, catchy back vocals of John & George, guitars do also a great job, even Pete do a fine drumming; sum it all, a great performance and ending to this wonderful audition.

Thanks for listening all the Decca Audition, Remastered by me.

Hoped you liked it.

The Beatles most unnatural performance ever given. Playing through equipment that wasn't theirs, Pete Best isolated behind baffles. They were nervous as hell, and the music was stiff and soulless as a result. They were out of their element, and it showed. But who knows? Had they signed with Decca, things might well have been very different, and The Beatles wouldn't have become a household word.

Good cover of the Fab Four of THE COASTERS (a black group of Doo wop). The original song was COMPOSED BY JERRY LEIBER & STOLLER..is not wrong to think that THEY CREATED THE "RINGO'S BEAT"--THE MERSEY RHYTHM.

I hate when people act like they are the real John Lennon and Paul McCartney and George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

I like The Beatles early songs like Take Good Care of My Baby, Searchin, How Do You Do It, Don't Ever Change, and Hello Little Girl just to name a few.

A tribute to the lasting power of Lieber-Stoller as a songwriting team. It was great that the boys chose to record two of their songs for the Decca session. Thank you again for making all the 15 recordings available on YouTube!
