Just because they've become more than raw anger and Thrash metal, does not mean they've become "mainstream garbage." It means they've broadened their horizons and shown just how versatile they actual are as musicians. They show just how talented they are by branching out. If they were "mainstream garbage" as you put it they would be doing the bullshit bands like BVB and Nickelback and the like are doing today. They would have some stupid gimmick as well.
