I first heard this song in the Japanese musical, ROMANCE MUSUME (1956), performed mostly in Japanese, with one or two lines in English, by Chiemi Eri. A little research revealed that Ms. Eri came to the U.S. and even sought singing lessons from her U.S. favorites, including Kay Starr.

And that was years before I became a Connie Francis FANatic... Enjoy these just the same; Music will change with each generation. But Good music will be Good music eternal.

The year my parents became old and they were only 35yo. At least my dad got stuck in the mud. My mom ... well she became a beatle and moody blues fan. Dad, well he never did progress or accept and waited for RnR to go away. Never really heard him diss Elvis. Then again I was born in 59 and all I heard was how he hated The Beatles ... really HATED the Beatles.

I think 1954 is a typo. The song was written in 1955, but considered a 1956 song, the year it charted.
