I did ballet pre-professionally and in college a total of almost 20 years. We warmed up in class every single day to this song. I haven't danced now for about 10 years, and now I'm trying to get back into ballet. I didn't think to write down this song name, and I've been searching a while to find it. I am SO very glad I did! It's like I had a piece of myself disappear and it makes me so happy (and wistful) to hear this again.

Gracias Emile

Yes, we "old timers" might remember this as the Rheingold Beer theme song: "My beer is Rheingold, the dry beer..."; played between innings of the NY Giants baseball team's games (at the Polo Grounds)in the late 1940's-50's. For years, I tried to discover the source of that music. Thanks to YouTube, I found this delightful tune, by an outstanding composer: Waldteufel. Wish I could waltz like I did years ago. Now, all I can do is tap my toes to this absolutely uplifting waltz. Thank you for posting.

I am thrilled that I was able to find this info. Heard this waltz on classical radio station this am and began singing the old Rheingold Beer commercial. Waded through lots of data on Rheingold Beer-very interesting. But I wanted to know what the name of the musical piece was. Voila! Of course if I had just left the radio on until the end of the piece, they would have told me what it was. However I would have missed all the cool stuff like the delightful ninety-year-old woman singing the commercial.

Marvelous melodic invention all the way through, my favorite of all waltzes.

Makes me want to go out and drink a Rheingold Beer. Only a very few will understand the meaning of this.

Papa, fais-toi beau, ta cavalière va te rejoindre...
