People who were around in early 63 when that song was released all had the collective viewpoint of wow . You simply have to look at the musical charts of 1962/63 to understand why people took notice of this group

Too slow. and in the Beatles 62 version Paul's bass part was much better

I wish he would do some new songs in this style. Now he seems interested in doing what I would call "light jazz" and it just doesn't do it for me.

I have to say that I love this version. I always feel like I'm having fun when I watch these videos. Brings back to a happy place.

When any of the critics and "authorities" here can produce music that will last over 50 years and still get such a great crowd reaction, only then will I consider anything they say remotely valid. Some jealous people just need to criticize to bolster their pitiful egos & feel important just as Chapman sought notoriety when he was in fact a big ZERO. Newsflash.... losers remain losers..I've seen both The Beatles and Paul in concert & his performance of the old tunes touched me. It reminded me and others in the audience old enough to remember, of times past both good and bad, friends lost & youth gone. Nostalgia!I don't care which one wrote it, it was a Beatle song & Paul was a Beatle. It is also known that Paul and John were on the path to reconciliation when John was murdered so I very much doubt he would mind Paul singing what is claimed to be primarily John's song. The emotions of the audience tell the tale. All that being said, at his age, Paul's voice is beginning to fail him in some songs so I hope he retires while still on top. I hate to see people become shadows of their former selves. I doubt he will though because music to him is like breathing. Either way, bless you Paul for what you & your buddies gave to the world.

Note to Paul and John Fogerty. Put your drummers behind a glass case or lower the volume on the drum mike.

52 years later and people from the ages of 13-75 singing word for word. Proof that the Beatles are the best and most influential band EVER!!!

When Paul sings COME ON, COME ON, I melt! Just look at the faces in the crowd. And I'm so with the ladies who are crying. I'll be doing the same when I see him in Philly! I can't wait Paul....LOVE YOU!

Good God! That song STILL thrills, doesn't it? And it still stirs up an emotional response, though whereas people shed tears initially because they knew they were witnessing something that not only was great but was something new, something that had never happened before, now we get emotional because it reminds of just how great it really was and how well it has stood the test of time. Add to that the awareness that we are witnessing the final years of that phenomenon, bringing to mind and fulling the heart with the knowledge that life is transient, that all things must pass and that we are here today...

What's amazing to me are all of the young people there to listen to a guy who's been performing for over 50 years.
